Blue Coat has completed its acquisition of Crossbeam Systems, Inc. As announced in its December 17 press release, Blue Coat is actively working to fully integrate Crossbeam and its employees into Blue Coat’s business operations.
Earlier Statement
On Monday, December 17, 2012, Blue Coat announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Crossbeam Systems, Inc. This acquisition brings together two market leaders with complementary product portfolios that provide service providers and enterprises with a control point in the network for managing applications that secure both inbound and outbound traffic from all users in any location.
The combined companies will continue to develop a rich ecosystem of solutions, bringing together best-in-class technologies to help customers build for today and adapt for tomorrow. Going forward, the X-Series platforms, including ISV application support, will be a strategic component of the Blue Coat product portfolio.
The acquisition is expected to close on December 31, 2012, at which time Crossbeam will operate as Blue Coat and become an integrated part of the company.
