Aoyama Gakuin School Corporation
Aoyama Gakuin improves the performance of its Web access and migrates its Web site to IPv6. For almost a century and a half, Aoyama Gakuin School Corporation has been one of the foremost education and research institutions in Japan, providing integrated education, from kindergarten through to graduate school. Aoyama Gakuin University was founded in 1949, with Aoyama Gakuin as its parent organization, to foster human resources that can contribute to society. To support the “Academic Grand Design” it has laid out, on the shape the 21st century should ideally take, the institution needed to accelerate Web access and modernize its network.
Aoyama Gakuin has a network in place to connect its two campuses and support more than 25,000 students and 1,200 teaching staff. The university wanted to provide a more convenient Internet connection and prepare for the most current Internet environment by accelerating Web access and starting to transition to IPv6.
Aoyama Gakuin deployed the ProxySG appliances to smoothly handle a large amount of traffic, including movies, and provide business continuity by enabling the use of IPv4 and IPv6 applications on the same infrastructure.
